Tragic tales of haunted pools

I recently posted an article on Uncanny UK about lonely bodies of water haunted by wicked spirits of past mischief-makers. More commonly, haunted pools are connected to stories about wronged maidens who drowned themselves in the waters because they were disappointed in love or, more usually, pregnant and abandoned by the father. Sadly, such tragedies probably did take place all too often in past times. There are very many haunted locations with stories of this type, so in my latest article I’ve highlighted a selection from Wales and the Border Counties. You can reaad the article here:
