Every day – except when my internet connection frsutrates me – I am uploading my suggested list of the Top 50 Most Haunted Places in Britain. Yesterday I reached the top 40 spot. Good old Borley! (The church and churchyard, mind you).
I’ve had great fun putting the list together. I based it on number of ghosts and/or lkelihood of activity. But being old-fashioned I’ve stuck on the whole to long established locations and only the best attested or most discussed of the ‘new’ sites that have sprung up post ‘Most Haunted’. I certainly don’t intend it to be in any way definitive, just a personal choice aimed at starting some debate maybe.
Number 40 can be read at http://www.uncannyuk.com/709/top-50-most-haunted-places-in-britain-40/ – just follow the arrows back to read down to 50. Another will be uploaded tonight.

I'm an enthusiast on the subjects of UK folklore, the supernatural and antiquities and am fond of old horror and sci-fi movies, cult TV such as Dr Who and I collect Victorian/Edwardian magazines. I also enjoy weird art and macabre literature by the likes of M R James, E F Benson, Algernon Blackwood, W Hope-Hodgson, H P Lovecraft etc. I live in North Wales, which is a very spooky place.
Nice work – a pleasure to read.
